East Side Story Partners with Rumours East and WAMB to Present East Side Storytellin’
NASHVILLE, TENN.— East Side Story has partnered with Rumours East and WAMB 1200 AM/ 99.3 FM radio to present East Side Storytellin’—an evening of book readings, musical performances, and author/musician interviews designed to elaborate on the stories behind these creative processes. East Side Storytellin’ will be held at Rumours East, located at 1112 Woodland Street in East Nashville, the first and third Tuesday of each month beginning Tuesday, November 6, at 7:00 p.m. Chuck Beard, owner of East Side Story, will host the event which will be recorded by WAMB to air on the radio station at a later date. Recordings of the show may also be found on East Side Story’s website (www.eastsidestorytn.com). This event is FREE but space is limited. Reservations may be made by calling Rumours East at 615.262.5346.
East Side Storytellin’ is an extension of East Side Story’s mission to offer an outlet for authors to share their talents. The bookstore also strives to build strong relationships within the Nashville community. Working with Rumours East is the first step towards laying the foundation for such a vision.
“We are thrilled to team up with Rumours East and WAMB on such a project!” says Chuck Beard. “East Side Story was designed to encourage, support, cultivate, and provide a platform for local writers to tell their best story. East Side Storytellin’ will allow us to do this on a regular basis while reaching a larger audience. We would be remiss if we did not include Nashville’s incredibly talented musicians. This is, after all, Music City and each singer-songwriter has a story to share as well.”
East Side Story is located in a 16’x16’ building within the 5 Points Collaborative—an East Nashville business incubator that launched last year. The “Idea Hatchery” may be the perfect location for small businesses like the East Side Bookstore to get started but for such an endeavor as East Side Storytellin’ Beard sought out a larger venue. Rumours East was quick to respond to his request.
“Working at Rumours East, I have had the joy of watching the neighborhood continue to grow into a cozy, creative community,” says Adam Binder, manager of the East Nashville restaurant and wine bar. “We are excited about contributing to the already thriving creative energy.”
East Side Storytellin’ will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. just as Rumours East is wrapping up Happy Hour. However, on these evenings guests may purchase a glass of house wine for $6 throughout the night.
